In 1609, Galileo Galilei first looked through his telescope, and changed science forever. His discoveries provided solid evidence that disproved the prevailing belief that the Earth was the center of the Universe. Throughout history, scientists such as Johannes Kepler and Sir Isaac Newton further revolutionized the design of the telescope. To celebrate the International Year of Astronomy, Sky-Watcher is proud to present the commemorative edition of Newton’s telescope – Heritage. Copyright Suzhou Synta Optical Technology Co., LTD. Great music, but… That’s some kind of an ad. For sure Heritage 76 is the same with Firstscope 76. But probably this telescope is not just a souvenir but a great real telescope for newcomers!

  3. robotmonkey73 says:

Bigger planets will look similar on this scope. It looks more impressive in person, but not even large telescopes can view anything similar to the fantastic images newcomers are excepting. But the moon is going to impress you.

noob here i want to ask some questions
is this telescope good for planet observation?
    what is the detail quality?
i’ve seen some pretty bad videos here on youtube made with 6-7″ telescopes
the planets looked like little shining dots with absolutely no detail
so what can be seen well with this one?

Me too! Not bad for fifty quid, eh? I’m thinking of getting a 2x Barlow, and a Shywatcher zoom eyepiece for mine.
